1.What is the author's attitude towards actions or events?
The author's attitude towards actions and events in the story is that of intense description of how the situation dangerous was.
2.Is the story humorous or tragic or frightening? Does the author want you to laugh or cry, to feel happy or sad, to experience anger or fear?
The story is frightening as each and every paragraph in the story, the author had been trying to fill the intensity of danger. The author probably want us to feel fearful and frightening as the plot of the story run.
3.What is the author's attitude toward the characters of the narrator?Does the author like or dislike, trust or mistrust the characters or the narrator?
The author's attitude towards the narrator was that of a sort of mistrust as the narrator wan an unstable man. He was not certain whether the narrator would choose to die by a pendulum or die by falling down in the pit.
